At Floral City Methodist Church, we believe that religion is about more than just attending services or reading holy texts. It's about finding meaning and purpose in life, connecting with something greater than ourselves, and living with intention and compassion. Whether you're just starting to explore your spirituality or you've been on this journey for years, we invite you to join us and discover all that Floral City Methodist Church has to offer. Our community is warm, welcoming, and supportive, and we believe that everyone has something valuable to contribute.
The Reverend Cindy Long is an ordained Elder of The Global Methodist Church in the Florida
Conference. She serves as the Lead Pastor of Floral City Methodist Church, a Global Methodist Community, in Floral City, Fl. Cindy graduated from International Fine Arts College in Miami, Fl with an Associate of Arts in Fashion Merchandising, and Trinity International University Florida Campus
with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. She earned a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Spiritual Formation from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. Cindy studied Historical and Geographical Settings of the Bible at Jerusalem University College on Mt. Zion, Israel in conjunction
with Asbury Theological Seminary. Currently, Cindy is in the Doctor of Worship Studies Program at the Robert E. Webber Institute of Worship Studies. She has a passion for worship, and believes an Ancient-Future worship will bring renewal and revival to the Church. In addition, worship brings
spiritual transformation to the body of Jesus Christ.
Cindy was born and raised in Berryville, VA, but lived most of her adult life in Fort Lauderdale, Fl
with a few journeys’ along the way. Prior to her call into pastoral ministry, Cindy was the Billing
Manager of a $350 million gas utility contractor for twenty-one years. Being a pastor to all is Cindy’s
second vocation. She enjoys walks along the ocean while collecting sea glass. Cindy loves to hike
in the great outdoors of God’s creation. Often, you will find Cindy gardening and planting flowers, or
in a quiet corner reading.
Over the years, Cindy has learned she is a contemplative, but thrives in community. She holds John
Wesley’s Covenant prayer close,
“I am no longer my own, but yours. Put me to what you will, place
me with whom you will. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be put to work for you or set
aside for you. . .” Cindy is known in telling people “To take the hand of Jesus, and do not be afraid,
Jesus is with you always.”
